Detailed Site Investigation for Social Housing
Overview
ARC was engaged to review existing environmental information provided by the client and undertake environmental investigations to support the completion of a Statutory Environmental Audit for the development of social housing.
Based on the existing investigation information, ARC approached a "gap-focused" audit-support strategy by reviewing and re-interpreting the existing dataset from the previous consultant, along with further assessment to fill in identified gaps in the Conceptual Site Model (CSM). ARC developed a targeted Sampling and Analysis Quality Plan (SAQP) which was endorsed by the appointed Environmental Auditor and undertook a Detailed Site Investigation (DSI) including soil and groundwater investigations.

Scope
Challenge
The main contaminants of potential concern were identified as petroleum hydrocarbons related to off-site underground storage tanks (USTs), and metals & benzo(a)pyrene related to imported fill material.

The Auditor issued a completed Audit Statement for the proposed redevelopment.
